Extraordinary Projects need Exceptional Talent
As a Construction Project Management Intern at Perini Management Services, reporting to a Project Manager, you will have the opportunity to work with the PMSI home office staff on domestic and/or international design-build and bid-build style projects. At Perini we are excited to offer our Co-Op Students a wide variety of projects to work on and a unique opportunity to be involved in small and large scape multi-discipline projects. Each Co-Op Student’s experience will vary from semester to semester based on the type of ongoing projects and stage of construction. However, the following is a list of general responsibilities that are expected of all Students:
Responsibilities
- Provide general assistance to multiple design-build and bid-build projects.
- Will coordinate with designer of record, subcontractors, and site staff regarding daily project action items.
- Will be required to take notes and develop meeting minutes for project meetings (client meetings, designer meetings, subcontractor meetings).
- Will update and maintain project records using Prolog for each assigned project. May be required to maintain additional logs outside of the project management software.
- Assist the Project Management Staff with the coordination and review of RFI’s, Design Submittals, and Construction Submittals for each assigned project.
- During design reviews, will act as coordinator for Bluebeam studio sessions and will generate design review memos to be issued to the designers for response.
- Performing quantity take-offs required for procurement on assigned projects.
- Will be required to plot/print and distribute design documents to all internal team members.
- Coordinate the document gathering and assembly of operation and maintenance manuals for specified projects.
- Will perform office tasks such as scanning, and filing.
- May assist PMSI’s Controls Group and PMSI’s Estimating Group on and as needed basis.
- May assist in tracking and processing of Change Orders from Subcontractors and to Clients for ongoing projects.
- Will be required to perform various tasks on Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & other software, such as Procore.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Four-year construction or design related degree (Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management)
- Interest in learning and developing essential skills to build a career in construction management.
- Interest in future travel and potential relocation to out-of-state and/or overseas project locations.
- Prior Internship experience is a plus but not required.
- Position is 40-hours a week based in our Home Office in Framingham, MA. The start and finish dates of the internship period are flexible depending on the student’s availability and semester schedule, however a minimum 3-month full-time period is preferred.
