Who you are:

The Staff Accountant will report to the Controller and work closely with the Accounting team members. The Staff Accountant will support in the preparation of financial statements, reconcile the balance sheets and cash accounts, participate in the audit process, and analyze trends to influence positive financial results. The Staff Accountant will make sure all deadlines are achieved, and all work products are of the highest standard. The ideal candidate will have a sense of urgency and hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.

What you'll do:

  • Support monthly financial close process, prepare monthly activities including journal entries related to lease expenses, inventory, fixed assets and corporate card spend
  • Record and reconcile intercompany transactions across businesses
  • Ensure fixed asset additions are recorded properly, validating depreciation start dates and useful lives
  • Help manage corporate card spend and reconciliations
  • Assist with inventory-related general ledger entries
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including cash, accrued expenses and intercompany accounts
  • Prepare bank account reconciliations
  • Support ad hoc projects or analyses as needed

What we need from you:

  • 1-2 years of Accounting, Finance or related experience (restaurant or retail industry is preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • An appropriate sense of urgency
  • Discretion
  • Excellent Verbal & Written Communication
  • Strong Computer Skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • NetSuite knowledge a plus
