Events and Marketing Intern

Internship Overview: NJBAC is seeking a dynamic and motivated Events and Marketing Intern to join our team. This internship presents a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in event planning, marketing strategy, creating organic social media content and business development initiatives. The selected intern will work closely with our Events and Marketing Manager to support the execution of various events and creating promotional materials and campaigns aimed at fostering economic development in New Jersey.

Responsibilities:

  1. Event Planning and Coordination:
    • Assist in the planning and execution of business events, workshops, webinars and conferences.
    • Coordinate logistics, including venue selection, event layout, catering, audiovisual requirements, and outside partners and attendee communication.
    • Provide on-site support during events to ensure smooth operations.
  2. Marketing and Promotion:
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional materials, including social media content, newsletters, and press advisories/releases.
    • Assist in developing and implementing marketing strategies to increase awareness of NJBAC programs and services.
    • Analyze marketing metrics and provide insights to optimize future campaigns.
  3. Content Creation:
    • Contribute to the creation of engaging and informative content for various platforms.
    • Support the development of multimedia content, such as videos, infographics, flyers, webpages, photos and online posts.
  4. Research and Analysis:
    • Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities for business growth in New Jersey.
    • Assist in analyzing the effectiveness of marketing initiatives and provide recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, Canva, Eventbrite and social media platforms.
  • Creative thinking and a passion for event planning and marketing.
