Who We Are:

Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) is the state agency that empowers Ohioans with disabilities through employment, disability determinations, and independence. It is accomplished through its Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation (BVR), Bureau of Services for the Visually Impaired (BSVI) and Division of Disability Determination (DDD). A fourth area is the Division of Employer and Innovation Services (EIS), which is responsible for establishing and maintaining partnerships with employers.

Division Overview:

Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation (BVR)

The Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation provides vocational rehabilitation (VR) services to eligible individuals with disabilities to assist them to attain and maintain competitive integrated employment.  OOD works with adults seeking to enter the workforce or retain a job, and with youth beginning at age 14 to assist them as they transition from high school into college and/or the workplace.  For more information click here.

 

Business Operations Manager 1 Position Overview: 

The Business Operation Manager oversees the administrative functions to ensure efficient office operations. This role involves training and supervising support staff, conducting performance reviews, and managing front desk and phone coverage. The manager also collaborates with management to streamline processes, maintain office supplies, address equipment issues, and enhance customer service. Additionally, they ensure regular training for Safety Coordinators and manage records retention.

 

Successful Business Operations Manager 1 Duties:

  • Trains and supervises administrative support staff.
  • Conducts staff performance reviews and guides performance improvement.
  • Schedules appropriate staffing for front desk and phone coverage at the area’s designated office locations.
  • Works with management to ensure smooth office operations including processing mail for the area, maintaining the availability of office supplies, and addressing office and equipment related issues.
  • Ensures regular training of designated Safety Coordinators in the area.
  • Responsible for records retention coordination and assigns staff to complete related duties.
  • Collaborates with management and other appropriate staff in identifying and implementing strategies that can improve efficiencies of overall office operations and enhance customer service.

Qualifications

4 years experience in business or public administration. 

OR completion of undergraduate core program in business administration AND 2 years experience in business management. 

OR equivalent of education and/or experience per Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
