Job Summary:
Our RFP Grant Writer Intern will be responsible for preparing and submitting grant proposals to secure funding for an organization. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with various teams to support grant writing activities and contribute to building the organization's portfolio of institutional funders. This internship aims to enhance skills in managing the RFP/RFI/RFQ response process and developing grant proposals. A flexible schedule is allowed, but availability of 5 days per week is preferred.
Education & Experience:
- Current college student, or recent graduate.
- Applicants must be pursuing or have a completed Bachelor’s degree in English, Humanities, or a related field. Those with equivalent work experience will be considered.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Analyze RFP Opportunities: Assist in analyzing government RFP opportunities and summarizing key findings.
- Develop Funding Applications: Support the development, writing, and assembly of funding applications under supervision.
- Collaborate with Program Staff: Work with program staff to gather necessary information for proposal development.
- Manage Grant Renewals: Help manage grant renewals and fulfill reporting requirements to ensure compliance.
- Conduct Prospect Research: Perform prospect research to support grant acquisition efforts.
- Track Proposal Statuses: Assist in tracking proposal statuses and metrics using a moves-management system.
- Support Grant Writing Process: Perform other duties as assigned to support the grant writing process.
Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interest in grant writing, nonprofit management, or healthcare advocacy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Ability to commute to our office in Union, NJ.
- Consent to and pass State/Federal Criminal Background Checks.
- Proven track record in successful grant writing.
Schedule:
- We are offering flexible hours. Ideally, we are looking for someone who can commit to the office five days a week, for at least 3 to 4 hours.
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

Additional Information:
*This position is temp to hire. After successful completion of 90 days of employment, an offer for full-time employment may be extended.*
