Business Development Associate

Overview:

Our client, Progressive Design Inc., is hiring 2 Business Development Associates in Midlothian, VA. These positions will support the Business Development Manager on expanding relationships with current and future client opportunities. Must have undergraduate degree in engineering, construction management, communications or business. Seeking individuals who have a real interest within construction, and who would like to eventually get into a Sales Engineer, Customer Engineer, and/or Applications Engineer type of position.

Description:

  • Support Business Development Manager on expanding relationships with current and future client opportunities in company target industries.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, gaps, needs, and pain points of the target audience.
  • Create and maintain databases, lists, and reports of prospects, customers, and partners.
  • Assist in preparing proposals, contracts, agreements, and other documents related to business development.
  • Responsible for scheduling lunch meetings, customer entertainment, and technical presentations.
  • Initiating client follow-up on current projects and new leads.
  • Coordinate marketing efforts to expand company exposure to targeted groups.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in engineering, construction management, communications, business or related fields.
  • Ability to think creatively and have strong sales promotion and marketing skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, self-motivated, integrity, professionalism, the ability to work well with others, and a great desire to be successful.
  • Strong entrepreneurial abilities and a passion to succeed.
  • Basic understanding of construction projects.
  • Experience in public speaking and technical writing.
  • Computer literacy especially in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional relationship management skills.
  • Client relationship skills including experience in negotiations, articulating complex solutions and benefits.
  • Ability to think creatively and have strong sales promotion and marketing skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, self-motivated, integrity, professionalism, the ability to work well with others, and a great desire to be successful.
  • Comfortable in a fast paced and growing environment.
