Location: Various districts across New Jersey

Position Type: Part-time, Independent Contract Work 

Pay Rate: $18 per hour (Maximum 4-hour shifts)

Duration: August – November 5, 2024

Job Overview:

New Jersey League of Conservation Voters Education Fund and New Jersey League of Conservation Voters (“NJLCV”) are bi-partisan, non-profit organizations that protect our precious natural resources by raising awareness of key environmental challenges; increasing the efficacy of the environmental community; helping elect environmentally responsible candidates to state and local offices; advocating for strong environmental policies; and ensuring accountability to safeguard the health of our communities, the beauty of our state, and the strength of our economy.

We are seeking passionate and motivated individuals to work with us as 100% Clean Electricity Canvassers. In this independent contracted role, you will be responsible for distributing yard signs in designated districts to support our campaign for clean energy. Your efforts will play a crucial part in raising awareness and building momentum for a sustainable future.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete 4-hour canvassing shifts in assigned districts across New Jersey.
• Distribute yard signs to residents, engaging with community members where appropriate.
• Ensure accurate tracking of distributed materials.
• Provide feedback on canvassing experiences and any community concerns.
• Represent the campaign in a positive and professional manner.

Requirements:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to environmental sustainability and clean energy initiatives.
• Reliable transportation to assigned districts.
• Availability for shifts throughout August, September, and October.

Compensation:

• $18 per hour, with a maximum of multiple 4-hour shifts over the campaign period, confirmed with an independent contractor agreement.
