Preschool/Pre-K Teacher

Job Summary:

The Preschool/Pre-K Teacher will provide quality, caring, and supportive childcare to Jack & Jill families. We are looking for staff who will support our pre-K & school age teams in the afternoons. We are adding part-time and full-time teachers to our team to support our staff and continue to promote a healthy work/life balance. Hours are flexible from part time (12-6, 2-6, 3-6) or full time, but the individual must be able to work until 6 pm.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred or currently pursuing similar fields in college.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with parents, and community members.
  • Professional and responsible work attitude.
  • Experience working with children in these age groups.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Use a variety of teaching techniques including modelling, observing, questioning, demonstrating, and reinforcing.
  • Encourage and assist children to practice self-help daily.
  • Individualize the curriculum.
  • Use observations to expand play for the children.
  • Follow behavior guidance and policies established by the program.
  • Ensure the child’s environment is healthy and safe.
  • Attend to children’s physical needs for diapering, eating, and sleeping.
  • Ensure positive communication with parents.
  • Discuss the programs daily events and the child’s daily progress with parents.
  • Follow licensing requirements.
  • Attend scheduled staff trainings.
  • Carry out the responsibilities assigned to you.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information related to the children, staff, parents, and the program.
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
