Mechanical Engineering Co-Op - Spring 2025

The Role:
Our site in Aurora is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Co-Op to join our team for the Spring 2025 season. This assignment is intended to be 6 months in duration.

What You’ll Do:
• Perform controlled experiments and present the results of analytical tests to team
• Develop CAD drawings and FEA / 3D models for new design concepts and carry out Simulations using Clean room & lab testing inputs.
• Create documentation for different process steps involved in different products. Work with production, quality and Analytical teams as required.

What We Seek:
• Good understanding of Mechanical Design fundamentals
• Proficiency in CAD , CAE and parametric modeling using commercially available software
• Knowlege of Polymeric materials, and manufacturing methods is a plus
• Ability to analyze and organize data
• Quickly learning from mistakes (we all make mistakes!)

Outstanding Candidates Will Have:
• Masters in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Mechanics or Structural Engineering with thorough understanding of mechanical engineering design using Frist principles
• Familiarity with material properties testing and characterization


Desired Major(s) & Graduation Year:
• Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Mechanics or Structural Engineering
• Spring 2025 Graduation or later

 

Eligibility:

  • Must be a currently enrolled student
  • Available to work 40 hours a week, M-F (8a-5p) beginning in January 2025-June 2025
  • Must be familiar with the universities requirements to participate in a co-op program
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
