Marketing and Communication Coordinator

Job Title: Marketing and Communication Coordinator  

  

Job Objective 

This position will be an essential part of the Museum’s Marketing and Communications department, developing and maintaining organizational and project management systems for the department, expanding engagement and collaboration externally and across Museum departments.   

 

Responsibilities   

Support the daily administrative and operational needs of the Marketing and Communications department; including but not limited to managing the VP of Marketing and Director of Marketing’s calendars; general communications; processing invoices preparing agendas; welcoming guests, press, and appointments; and represent the department at meetings as assigned. 

Keep schedules, timelines, assignments, and action steps to ensure project management for marketing, communications, and public programming efforts. 

Assist with social media style guide, team timelines, and other communications policies. 

Assist with content research and creation, Museum events, special initiatives, exhibitions, and more. 

Other tasks as assigned.  

 

Requirements 

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or relevant field. 

Strong organizational skills working in a deadline-driven environment. 

Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with a creative team, coordinating with stakeholders across multiple departments. 

Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a high level of tech literacy. 

Knowledge of project management software like Asana a plus.  

Experience using analytics, listening, and social media scheduling tools. 

Genuine interest in, knowledge about, and commitment to the Museum’s mission. 

Availability to work occasional evenings and Sundays for Museum programs and events.

Position 

Reports to Vice President of Marketing 

Covered by the DC-37 collective bargaining agreement 

Annualized compensation rate of $39,998.40 ($19.23 per hour) 

Full-Time, 40 hours a week
