Network Engineer | Enterprise Technology & Security Development Program

In our Enterprise Technology & Security Development Program (ETSDP), you will help build next-generation services and collaborate with fintech partners on innovative solutions. Network Engineer Rotation

In this year-long program you will develop the skills and knowledge necessary to have a successful career.  Citizens is a cloud-first organization adopting automation in our tech stack. As a part of our Network Engineer Rotation, you will have three different rotations where you will contribute valuable insight and engineering expertise while working on a wide range of projects. As a member of the cloud network engineering team, you will be given the autonomy to exercise independent thought in a collaborative environment.  Sample responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining and ensuring the widespread availability of secure connectivity solutions.
  • Identifying and documenting key network performance trends and patterns; monitoring network diagnostics.
  • Collaborating with infrastructure, cloud and software engineers to plan network and infrastructure related projects.
  • Routinely reexamining firewalls, proxy gateways and other network security components.
  • Troubleshooting network availability and accessibility issues as they arise. 

All ETSDP colleagues will spend their first 5 weeks together for on-boarding, orientation, and our in-house Tech Made Ready Academy.
 

Early Career Development Program (ECDP)

All ETSDP colleagues will participate in the  Early Career Development Program (ECDP) this robust program is designed to give our new colleagues a solid foundation to Citizens. Through the ECDP, you’ll experience:

  • 4-day in-person event with bank-wide early career development program colleagues  
  • Professional development workshops (including Presence & Presentation)
  • Networking opportunities with senior leadership across all areas of Citizens
  • Dedicated community service activities to include direct service or skills-based volunteering to local organizations across our footprint.

Life after the program
Upon successful completion of the ETS Development Program, colleagues will be placed on a team where you will continue to develop your Network Engineering career.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications:

  • Successfully complete a video interview assessment
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Network Engineering, Information Technology or other technology-related degree.
  • Expected graduation date of May 2025.
  • Minimum GPA 3.0.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in a team environment, strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Professional or academic exposure to cloud network solutions
  • Cyber security coursework preferred
  • Knowledge of network monitoring solutions such as Nagios/Cacti, MRTG, and Smokeping preferred
  • Knowledge of VMWare ESX and Linux technologies preferred

Hours and Work Schedule
Hours per Week: 40
Work Schedule: M-F 8:30am - 5pm
