Project Accountant
Your Role
As a Gensler Project Accountant, you will be responsible for project account management and billing for the firm’s projects and business practices. You will be successful because you are highly organized and passionate about ensuring the fiscal health of assigned projects throughout the entire project life cycle, starting with the initial contract and setting up billing terms, due diligence through client invoicing and collections. Join a team of highly creative, collaborative colleagues and partner with Gensler project managers to ensure our projects are not only beautiful, but financially sound.
What You Will Do
- Determine and set up best billing terms and invoice formats
- Interpret financial data in contracts and billings and accurately convey them
- Work closely with Design Managers, clients and consultants to discuss billing and financial issues
- Prepare and process invoices in line with project contractual arrangements
- Adhere to the monthly invoicing deadlines
- Manage Subconsultant PO & AP Process through Coupa
- Retrieve and match back-up to invoices where necessary
- Maintain and monitor project specific budgets / spreadsheets / reports
- Meet regularly with Design Managers and Studio Directors to review schedule, billing, held time and collection issues
- Prepare journal entries and research General ledger issues
- Develop understanding of our accounting software so that you are seen as an expert and a resource to staff
- Cross-train and work closely with other team members so that we function as a cohesive and high performing team.
- Assist the team with any ad-hoc projects or analyses.
Your Qualifications
- Relevant Accounting certification
- 2+ years experience in Project Accounting and Sales Ledger
- Working knowledge and understanding of VAT
- Experience of dealing with international currencies and exchange rates
- Experience in A/E industry or a professional services firm preferred
- Proficient using Advanced Excel, Word, E-mail and the Internet
- Knowledge of Deltek Vision a plus
- Excellent organizational skills as well as a high attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels
- Must be able to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Ability to work within a team environment and work independently
- Analytical, Proactive, Problem solver
**The base salary range will be estimated between $70-85k plus bonuses and benefits and contingent on relevant experience.
