Position Title:            Paintmaker I-2nd Shift

Department:              Operations

Supervisor:                Paintmaking Supervisor 

Location:                    New Berlin

 

*2nd Shift works from 3:15pm-1:45am, Monday through Thursday*

 

Responsibilities:       

Individuals are required to operate and be efficient in at least two of the following: large versator, small versator, or all mills, and multiple pieces of equipment, including drum dumper, fork truck, manual jack, power jack, etc. This individual may be required to operate the bulk mixer. This position must also efficiently perform all processes, which may consist of mixing, milling, de-aerating, pumping, and quality control of paint and related products.  Incumbent is also responsible for general cleaning of machinery and drums, as well as entering data into the ERP system.  This position requires use of a respirator.

High School Diploma or equivalent plus additional computer training

Physical Requirements:       

  • Continuous periods of standing/walking on concrete surface.  Some ergonomic matting present.  Slip/trip hazards present. 
  • Occasional climbing on/off a platform. Step may be as high as 23” 
  • Constant reaching from below the waist to waist and shoulder heights. Occasional overhead reaching. 
  • Occasional to frequent bending. May be sustained. 
  • Occasional to frequent squatting.
  • Occasional moderate to heavy pushing/pulling (70 lbs force). Frequent light pushing/pulling (25 lbs force).
  • Occasional twisting
  • Frequent lifting of up to 60 lbs 5-gallon pails. Lift may originate from 11’ to 23”.  Pails are lifted and stacked at heights from floor to 14 1/2”, 29” and 43” high. 
  • Occasional overhead lifting of 20 lbs (empty barrel containers).  Lift originates from floor height. 
  • Frequent carrying of up to 60 lbs 5-gallon pails. 
  • Constant grasping/pinching, occasionally combined with torque. Includes use of hand tools.
  • Constant visual and auditory acuity to monitor running of machinery and quality of product.
  • Occasional to frequent daily use of a respirator and able to pass a respirator medical clearance
  • Intermittent lifting of 5-gallon pails weighing up to 75 lbs. from floor to waist.
