TeKChek - Administration / Technical Repair Tier 1

Job description

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a part-time Computer Repair Technician for the kite+key, Rutgers Tech Store, Piscataway location. The Apple-authorized Campus Store and Computer Repair is owned and operated by the university. Three locations offer on-site computer repair services to students, faculty, and staff. The position is responsible for supporting the TekCheK Manager. It emphasizes skill sets in customer support and relations, software and hardware troubleshooting and resolution, problem diagnosis, and hardware repair and replacement.

 

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Performs software installation and updates, data retrieval, and hardware repairs on Apple, HP, Lenovo, Dell, etc. computers and devices.
  • Completes warranty and out-of-warranty repairs according to the kite+key standard of excellence.
  • Procures parts and provides repair and replacement estimates as well as onsite diagnostics and support.
  • Travel between locations is required as business needs dictate and will assist with in-store support as necessary.
