Duties
The selectee for this position will serve as a Construction Control Representative, responsible for providing program guidance and expertise technical oversight for specific contractor activities, and monitoring construction project progress by inspecting materials and workmanship to ensure compliance with contract.
Major Duties include but are not limited to:
- Inspect contractor's operations to assure compliance with the specifications and engineering and construction practices and methods.
- Investigate Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) test results and ensure corrections are identified and made within the constraints of the contract.
- Determine acceptable construction methods and reject or disapprove the contractor's methods when it is known that the results will not meet specification requirements.
- Submit progress and inspection reports and maintain records of work accomplished.

You must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.

You must meet specialized experience requirements (see Qualifications).
You are required to maintain a valid state motor vehicle operator's license in order to operate a government-owned or leased truck, SUV, or sedan. Failure to maintain a valid State Driver's License at all times will result in removal from the position.
You may be required to work outside of regular tour of duty with supervisor approval, e.g., credit hours, overtime, etc.
You are required to work up to 12 hours per day Monday through Friday which includes 4 hours of overtime daily for travel to and from the worksite; and required to work overtime on some Saturdays.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience and/or education for the respective grade level in which you are applying:
Specialized Experience: Applicants must have one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-10 grade level in the Federal service (obtained either in the private or public sectors) performing at least two (2) of the following: (1) inspecting contractor's operations to assure compliance with the specifications and acceptable engineering and construction practices and methods; (2) reading and interpreting engineering and architectural drawings and specification; (3) recording changes to contract drawings and specifications for use in the preparation of as-built drawings at completion of construction; and/or (4)reviewing of plans and specifications for construction projects.

You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as "varies".
