The Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE), Office of Internal Audit, is now accepting applications from experienced individuals for two Accounts Examiner positions. The Office of Internal Audit is seeking an energetic, self-starter with excellent research, communication, and Microsoft Office (including pivot table) skills, who works well independently or in a team environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in account reconciliations, financial analysis, and auditing procedures.

THE ROLE

The Accounts Examiner, under the direct supervision of a lead auditor, will be conducting performance audits and other examinations of external and internal departmental programs, functions and activities.


 

The Accounts Examiner will be involved in reviewing grantee audit reports and grant calculation forms for accuracy and compliance with state and federal laws, program requirements, and single audit requirements. Additional responsibilities include: 

  • Assisting in the resolution of audit issues with grantees
  • Participate in conducting external financial audits of grantee reports filed by municipalities, and non-profit organizations for the purpose of ensuring compliance with grant agreements, statutes and federal laws, or other regulatory requirements
  • Other related duties as required
