About Us
Hawks FC is a nonprofit youth all-girls soccer club dedicated to empowering young female athletes and promoting diversity in youth sports. Our mission is to create a positive, inclusive environment where players develop their skills, confidence, and love for soccer. We’re looking for a passionate and creative Social Media/Marketing Intern to join our team and help bring our vision to life through engaging content and strategic marketing efforts.
What You’ll Do
As the Social Media/Marketing Intern, you’ll play a key role in promoting Hawks FC across digital platforms, building our online presence, and supporting the growth of our programs. You’ll gain hands-on experience in social media management, content creation, and sports marketing while contributing to a meaningful cause.
Key Responsibilities

Content Creation:
- Design creative content for social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, etc.), including graphics, videos, and stories.
- Capture photos and videos during practices, games, and events to showcase the club’s activities.
- Develop promotional materials for events, tryouts, and campaigns.

Social Media Management:
- Plan, post, and monitor content based on the club’s social media calendar.
- Engage with followers by responding to comments and messages.
- Track and analyze social media performance to identify trends and opportunities for growth.

Marketing Support:
- Assist in executing marketing campaigns, including email newsletters and promotional initiatives.
- Collaborate with staff to highlight players’ successes and milestones.
- Research best practices in youth sports marketing and provide recommendations for improvement.

Brand Development:
- Ensure all content aligns with the Hawks FC brand voice and values.
- Support brainstorming sessions to enhance community outreach and attract sponsors.

- Learn how to develop and execute a strategic social media plan tailored to a specific audience.

- Build your understanding of how marketing drives the growth of nonprofit organizations, particularly in the youth sports sector.

What We’re Looking For

Education:
- Current college student or recent graduate studying marketing, communications, sports management, or a related field.

Skills & Knowledge:
- Proficiency in social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook) and analytics tools (e.g., Meta Business Suite).
- Familiarity with graphic design tools like Canva or Adobe Photoshop.
- Photography and video editing experience (preferred).
- Strong communication skills and creativity.

- Passion for youth sports, female empowerment, and making a difference.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently.
- Eagerness to learn and contribute to a dynamic nonprofit environment.
Requirements
- Commitment of 8-12 hours per week, with flexibility to attend evening/weekend events as needed.
- Ability to attend Hawks FC practices, clinics, or events in Northern New Jersey.
- Access to a computer, smartphone, and reliable internet.
