NEW HIGHER SALARY: $45,926 - $80,369

The Challenge

We are looking for an experienced driver's education professional to join our School Bus Driver Training team.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Train and certify school bus drivers in the classroom and behind the wheel.
  • Teach safe driving procedures for school bus driver defensive driving courses, driver improvement clinics and other safety programs.
  • Conduct vision and medical screenings for driver education classes.
  • Provide training and certification for commercial driver training instructors.
  • Inspect commercial driver training schools and vehicles for compliance with state and county laws.
  • Investigate complaints involving commercial driver training schools.
  • Complete weekly reports to be submitted to our central office.
  • Compile and maintain all work-related reports and files.
  • Work in areas involving training/teaching, auditing, and inspecting vehicles for Commercial Drivers License law.

 

What You Bring

  • Experience providing instruction in a classroom, including developing and revising lesson plans.
  • Ability to complete and maintain reports and files.
  • Computer skills using Microsoft Office.
  • Experience examining and evaluating information and making decisions based on analysis.
  • No driver license suspensions/revocations in the past 5 years and no more than 5 active points.
  • Strength to lift and carry equipment/supplies weighing ~50 pounds.
  • Agility to stoop, bend over, look under, and enter/exit school buses.

 

Notes

  • A background check of your employers for the past 2 years and pre-employment drug test is required.
  • You will be assigned a take-home state-owned vehicle!

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree, and
  • 2+ years of relevant experience; or
  • An equivalent of training and experience.
