Summer Chemical Engineering Intern
**Must be actively pursuing a Bachelor or Graduate degree in Chemical Engineering**
Paid Summer Internship ($22.00/hr, 40 hrs per week), 8 weeks during the summer.
Job purpose
The Summer Engineering Intern will be responsible for learning the engineering practices at Prefere Melamines LLC in Indian Orchard, MA. S/He/They will assist the engineering team support daily production of melamine-formaldehyde resin.
Duties and responsibilities
Support the Management of Change process for equipment changes and process changes.
- Modify relevant operating procedures and other documentation and conduct operator training as needed.
- Update engineering drawings as required by equipment change process.
- Data collection in support of cost savings initiatives.
- Maintain production records in accordance with ISO 9001.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external resources and assist in coordinating efforts toward achievement of production goals.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must be actively pursuing a Bachelor or Graduate degree in Chemical Engineering; related fields may be considered.
- Must be at least a Junior in good academic standing; minimum 3.0 G.P.A. at the time of applying.
- Organized, self-motivated individual able to handle fluctuating volumes of work with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
- Requires good working knowledge of computer, Microsoft office programs and spreadsheet applications.
- Must have excellent Microsoft Office skills, specifically in Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Must be able to interact, communicate and work effectively with individuals throughout the organization.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Applicants must pass background check and drug test.
