Store Experience Architecture Planning Intern
As a Store Experience Architecture Planning Intern, you’ll play a key role in supporting the entire Architectural Planning team. This internship offers hands-on experience in creating and maintaining store-specific documentation, ensuring code compliance, and contributing to the efficient rollout of BBY’s Real Estate programs. You’ll collaborate with a team of experts, gaining valuable insight into how architectural decisions shape the overall store experience and influence brand development. You'll also have the opportunity to contribute to real-world projects, enhance your architectural planning skills, and learn how to advocate for the company’s standards and requirements. In addition, you’ll participate in a summer series that includes our executive speaker events, Excel and PowerPoint workshops, and personal and professional development sessions.
This internship runs from June to August 2025. This role is hybrid, meaning you’ll be asked to come into the office 3 days per week. This internship does not have the potential to lead to a full-time opportunity. Housing and transportation will not be provided.
What You’ll Do
- Assist the Territory Sr. Manager in the following areas:
- Project concept drawing and (individual store or multi-store) impact assessment
- Scope of Work Documentation
- Architectural RFP creation
- Construction document review and redlining
- Project tracking and revision/change log implementation.
- Team process documentation
- Prototype drawing/detail creation
Basic Qualifications
- Must be pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, graduating between fall 2025 and spring 2028
- Must be able to commit to the internship start and end date of 6/2/2025- 8/8/2025
- Must be able to work 40 hours a week Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:30 AM – 5 PM
- Must be able to commit to being no more than 2 hours driving distance from the Minneapolis Corporate Campus - 7601 Penn Ave South Richfield, MN 55423
- Must be able to work in the Richfield, MN corporate office on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization (F-1 students with practical training and candidates requiring H-1Bs, TNs, etc., will not be considered)
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Architecture or a related field
- Strong interest in retail design, brand storytelling, and customer experience
- Experience with AutoCAD
- Strong attention to detail and ability to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to take directions, work independently, and bring creative solutions to challenges
- Basic understanding of materials, fixtures, furniture, lighting, and space planning
