Job Title: Commercial Operations Intern

May - August, full time, 40hrs/week

Pay rate $19 - $22 per hour

(2025 graduates must work the full internship)

Summary of Position

The Commercial Operations Intern will provide support to several areas of the commercial organization (sales, marketing, market access, etc.) with the goal of furthering strategic and tactical commercial development projects. The outputs generated will supplement theProject Onramp is a signature program of Life Science Cares, a collective effort of the life science industry to disrupt the cycle of poverty and inequality in our communities. department’s on-going efforts to bolster the efficiency and effectiveness of the commercial organization.

Responsibilities

• Develop an understanding of the Commercial Operations ecosystem, in addition to roles and responsibilities of each sub-function (Analytics, Reporting, Incentive Compensation, Forecasting, Market Research, etc.)

• Support Standard and Ad Hoc sales reporting on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to further the organization’s understanding of NUZYRA performance (issues and opportunities)

• Utilize MS Excel, Tableau and other Business Intelligence tools to advance on-going analytics projects including data and metrics summarization, data visualizations, and PowerPoint presentation development to evaluate key commercial tactics (ie. speaker programs, sample utilization, copay usage, etc.)

• Work closely with the Commercial Operations and IT teams to understand key data sources, tools, data processes, integrity and maintenance (ie. Data Inquiry process)

• Gain an understanding of Incentive Compensation plan design and administration including quota setting, financial impacts, IC reporting, contests and Circle of Excellence

• Liaise with Sales, Marketing, Market Access and other cross-functional colleagues

• Work effectively within the established corporate and industry compliance guidelines

Desired Majors / Minimum Qualifications + Skills:

Statistics, math or business analytics majors, with interest in pharma.

For this internship we are looking for students who love numbers and analytics. This student will work with the department who takes all of our sales data and turns it into useful information that the company then uses to make business decisions. The intern MUST have Excel knowledge.

Candidate Requirements:

• College student in a science or business discipline (e.g. math, statistics, economics)

• Past intern experience with pharmaceutical (particularly commercial) company is a plus

• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and an ability to translate data into actionable insight for decision-making purposes, as well as the ability to effectively communicate that data/insight

• History of success in classroom environment

• Ability to work under minimal direction while managing multiple projects simultaneously

Additional Information:

• Travel expectations <10%

• Technology skills: Microsoft Office – Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access; statistical software

and/or other analytical platform experience a plus

experience. Excel is used very often in all departments, so knowledge of Microsoft Excel is helpful. Training will be provided, but a foundational understanding of Excel will enable the intern to contribute more effectively from the start.

A laptop is preferred. Internet for offsite work required. Microsoft Office applications

(Powerpoint, Excel, Word).
