Technology Support Intern

Job Title: Technology  Support Intern
Location: Remote
Duration: 10 Weeks (Part-Time) totaling 200hrs
Department: IT / Technology Support
Reports To: IT Lead or Technology Manager

 

Project Summary

  • Roof Maxx is seeking a Technology Intern to assist with onboarding new users and providing outstanding technical support across the organization. This role focuses on ensuring team members have the tools, access, and guidance they need to be productive. It’s an ideal opportunity for someone beginning a career in IT to gain practical experience in support, troubleshooting, and technology documentation within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • User Onboarding: Ensure new users are set up with the proper systems, tools, and access they need to perform their roles.
    Level 1 Tech Support: Manage and resolve basic tech support tickets or escalate issues when necessary.
    Training Material & Job Aid Maintenance: Keep user documentation up to date, accessible, and easy to understand.
    Team Support: Assist other departments with tech-related needs and special projects as required.
    Issue Documentation: Log support requests and resolutions to help improve overall response time and service quality.

Deliverables

  • Accurate and timely setup of new users and documentation of onboarding steps
  • Resolved tech support tickets with documented solutions
  • Updated training materials, user guides, and tech job aids
  • Contributions to IT-related projects and team initiatives

Skills & Qualifications

  • Excellent patience and communication skills, especially with non-technical users
  • Strong written communication for documentation and user guides
  • Basic knowledge of IT systems, networks, and troubleshooting fundamentals
  • Experience working with Windows and/or Mac operating systems
  • Quick learner with a proactive approach to solving problems
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
