Research Scientist – Generative AI
As a Research Scientist in Generative AI at Nokia Bell Labs, you will join the Statistics and Data Science Research Group, where you will work on cutting-edge Machine Learning and AI projects.
The team you will be a part of:
Your focus will be on Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), multi-modal AI, AI reasoning, and AI applications in robotics within a dynamic industrial research environment. This role offers the opportunity to develop and prototype innovative systems, showcase your research breakthroughs, and publish your findings in leading conferences and journals.
How you will contribute and what you will learn
- Research and develop advanced machine learning and AI techniques and algorithms
- Evaluate algorithm performance using both real-world and simulated data
- Design and prototype systems to showcase research innovations
- Propose, investigate, and publish your research in leading conferences and journals
You have:
- PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, or a related field with an accredited school in the US.
- Developed innovative AI and machine learning algorithms
- Trained and evaluated AI models through pre-training, fine-tuning, and reinforcement learning (RL) techniques
- Demonstrated strong algorithmic problem-solving and software development skills, particularly with PyTorch
- Published research papers in peer-reviewed journals and conferences
It would be nice if you also had:
- Previous Nokia internship or co-op experience.
- Expertise in training multi-modal AI models
- Developed and evaluated agentic workflows
- Proficient in Reinforcement Learning with Human Feedback or similar methodologies
