The work was challenging and interesting. My colleagues were very knowledgeable and did not hesitate to help when I had questions. The office was a young and fun office.

Advice
Definitely know excel inside and out when you are looking to design. Also know AutoCADD Civil 3D and Microstation.

What I liked
Company culture and office environment is fantastic; I felt welcomed as a valued member of the team, both by the bridge design group and the office as a whole. I was given tasks which contributed to real world bridge design projects, and pushed me to expand my engineering knowledge and skillset. I was guided to complete these tasks by licensed engineers in the company who were always happy to answer any questions I had. Overall an extremely rewarding experience that I would recommend to anyone passionate about structural engineering and bridge design!

What I liked
I liked the experience and tools I have gained that can't be learned in school. ie Microstation, excel, project knowledge and how the industry really works, not just what they want you to know
What I wish was different
I wish I had a more clear understanding of how much extra schooling I need if any. Its a constant argument of masters or no masters.
Advice
Show up early and soak up as much as you can, it will be worth it in the end
