Business Operations Intern

June - August 2018 • New York City, NY

What I liked

My managers and VP were awesome mentors. Having little to no knowledge on Insurance Industry - they taught me a lot and explained all the work assigned to me which made my work easier. My VP connected me to other resources/departments internally so I can explore as much as possible during my time there.

What I wish was different

Nothing - everything was as good as it could be.

Advice

Venture to other departments and shadow other indivisuals in the company rather than just sticking to your own - You'll know more people and learn a lot of the company.

Underwriting and Global Risk Intern

June - August 2018 • Charlotte, NC

What I liked

The people at Sompo International wanted the Interns to succeed and take confidence away from the Internship. I went in knowing very little on Insurance and by the end of the summer, I learned about all the areas in the Insurance Industry.

What I wish was different

Everything about the Internship was valuable in its own way. We worked on a summer long project and I wish we could have expanded more on it and had more time. Other than that, this Internship allowed me to grow and experience many different areas of the Industry.

Advice

Do not be afraid to ask questions. Questions are the only thing that help you learn and grow.
